Meet Dr. Grigoriy Arutyunyan
Dr. Arutyunyan is a board certified orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in a broad spectrum of spine conditions. His goal at Big Apple Spine and Orthopedics is to treat pain and restore function, the freedom of movement.
Dr. Arutyunyan will guide you through your individual and unique journey. This includes coordinating and providing comprehensive non surgical and surgical treatment options. He takes pride in inviting each patient to be part of a shared decision making process, a team approach.
He completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic in the Department of Orthopedics in Rochester, Minnesota and went on to complete a spine surgery fellowship at the University of California San Francisco.
In addition to spine surgery, Dr. Arutyunyan is also trained in orthopedic oncology and completed an orthopedic oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, New York.

Meet Dr. Elvis Francois, M.D.
Dr. Elvis Francois is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and surgical management of complex spinal disorders. He completed his spine surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, following his orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic. He holds a medical degree from Meharry Medical College and a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Biology from Oberlin College.
Dr. Francois brings years of clinical expertise to Big Apple Spine, having previously served as a spine surgeon at Resurgens Orthopedics and Tulsa Bone and Joint. His clinical interests include minimally invasive spine surgery, cervical and lumbar disc disease, spinal deformity, and motion-preserving techniques.
In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Francois has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in the field of spine surgery and musculoskeletal research. He has presented at national orthopedic meetings and remains active in academic research and mentorship, particularly focused on increasing diversity in medicine.
